Art Full of Heart Program Recipient!
  The AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin is among the largest and most comprehensive AIDS service agencies in the country. They provide a vast array of services to over 2,100 Wisconsin residents with HIV/AIDS. Through a wide variety of aggressive AIDS prevention programs, they reach over 125,000 people every year who are at risk for contracting HIV.

This quarter’s Art Full of Heart recipient was chosen by ZNE Fondante Member, Liz O’bear (tornandfrayed).

Earlier this past Spring, ZNE members were shared Liz O’bear and her family’s grief, when their beloved cat Junior was killed by someone who shot him (and numerous other cats in her community). Liz shared her concern with her fellow ZNE members when her cat was first “missing,” and then her incredible sadness when Junior was found. Because of this terrible situation, Liz was offered the opportunity to choose the first ZNE Art Full of Heart Program recipient. Although Liz chose a human services agency that was close to her heart, as opposed to an animal welfare organization, her choice and all resulting donations to ARCW are in honor of her beloved cat Junior, and the many humans who loved him and were impacted by his death.

“I know the topic seems far off from Junior and animal welfare, but the HIV/AIDS situation threatens all of us and our loved ones, especially the art community - and that's why I chose ARCW for the Art Full of Heart program.

ARCW provides compassionate care and support and community outreach programs (including education on abstinence, condom use, drug/alcohol rehab programs, medical and dental care, and counseling services), and is being studied as a model for HIV/AIDS programs in other states. It is an incredible organization facing an overwhelming task, so I am thrilled that ZNE will be contributing- I hope it will be a success!”
